Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Crash

A single vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on the Pennyrile Parkway near Mannington has claimed the life of a Dixon, KY man.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were called at 4:21 to mile marker 27. They found a south bound vehicle driven by 34-year-old Matthew Childs had entered the median and overturned several times, before coming to rest in the north bound lanes. Childs was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Deputy Coroner.

Troopers say they are not sure what made Childs lose control of the vehicle. The investigation of the accident is continuing.
