Golf Scramble at Paxton Park Benefits Child Watch
Area golfers will have the opportunity to win $10,000 for a hole-in-one on Paxton Park’s hole number five at a benefit golf scramble Friday, August 24th. The tournament will benefit Child Watch in the agency’s work for the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of child abuse.
In addition to the hole-in-one grand prize, sponsored by Gold Capital, LLC, three additional par-3 holes feature prizes for golfers with the skill or luck to hit the hole in one shot. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place team finishes. Lunch will be served at noon prior to tee-offs beginning at 1:00.
Child Watch offers comprehensive counseling services to victims of child abuse, court advocacy for children removed from their homes (CASA program) due to inappropriate conditions, and child abuse prevention education to area elementary students. More than 500 children and non-offending caregivers received direct services over the past year, while more than 13,000 children received abuse prevention programming.
All proceeds from the golf scramble will help these services continue. Child Watch began providing services for abused children in 1984.
