In-Person or Virtual Race - 10th Iron Mom Paducah Half-Marathon, Relay & 5K

PADUCAH - Paducah's annual Mercy Health Iron Mom half marathon has reinstated an in-person option back to their schedule for this year's event on May 8.

Race officials now call it a "hybrid" event because the virtual option is also still in place.

Declining COVID positivity rates have allowed organizers to bring back the in-person race activity, but appropriate safety protocols will still be followed at the event.

Each year the Iron Mom plays a big part in helping the Family Service Society raise money to continue its mission to assist struggling local families with basic needs.

"We are a crisis resource center to families of Paducah and McCracken County. There's several different assistance programs that we offer including food and personal care items, utility assistance, clothing, a dental program, prescription medication aid and eyeglasses," said Family Service Society Business Development Director Katie Howard.

She added they have also recently begun offering rent assistance, something she says has been needed more and more since the pandemic began.

"This year we're just hoping to honor the event as best we can," Howard said.

There is still plenty of time to register to run as an individual, or as part of a 2- or 4-person relay team. You can sign up for your preferred event using the below link. Please note all virtual options will include the word virtual in the heading.
