Telescopes 101 at McLib

PADUCAH -  Telescopes 101 will be presented at McCracken County Public Library (McLib) on Tuesday,  April 30 from 7 - 8 pm. The workshop will be led by Dr. Victor Taveras, Associate Professor of Physics & Astronomy, West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
The presentation will examine observational astronomy and address a couple of questions such as: what can we observe with and without telescopes. Taveras will discuss how telescopes work and will cover what should you look for in selecting a telescope.

Dr. Taveras joined the WKCTC faculty in 2011. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island and a doctorate degree in physics from Pennsylvania State University. He has also completed post-doctoral research at Louisiana State University.

The 101 series sparks interest in a wide range of unique topics. Programs are free and open to the public and are led by experts in their fields.
