All in Timing to be Performed at MSU

Murray State University’s department of theatre will present David Ives’ “All in the Timing” in the Actors Studio Theatre Feb. 22–25 at 7:30 p.m. The play is a series of short, funny plays filled with wit, intellect, satire and fun. According to Matthew Crider, assistant professor of theatre and director of the production.

“ 'All in the Timing’ is a wild look at the conflict and chaos surrounding dating, love and marriage. The characters can find themselves trying to manage relationships in alternate realities where strange rules apply. One pair tries to manage a first meeting where any misstep resets the evening, much like the movie ‘Groundhog Day.’ One man is trapped in a state where he has to ask for the opposite of what he wants in order to get it. A couple meets at a party years after splitting up, only to have their conversation moderated and analyzed by an English professor.”

The production will be performed in Wilson Hall, room 310B, which is the department’s studio theatre space. According to Crider, “The space seats 55 people, so the audience and the actors are in very close proximity. It is a great environment to see a play, especially a comedy. Each audience member will easily find a way to attach themselves to the characters, and that makes for an extremely fun performance for both actor and audience.” Seating in the 55-seat theatre is first come, first served.

Reservations are accepted by calling 270-809-4421 or by purchasing tickets online at Seats
cannot be reserved. Audience members are urged to arrive early to ensure the best seating options even when purchasing their tickets prior to coming to the theatre.
