Lady Bombers Hosting 'Volleyball For a Cure'

The Lady Bombers’ annual “Volleyball for a Cure” will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the BMHS gym at 3561 Paducah Road, Barlow.

For this special breast cancer awareness event, games against Marshall County will begin with the freshman 5:30 pm, with junior varsity and varsity games following. A small program and activities are planned between games, and there will be several tables set up with information on breast cancer.

“Last year, we had a very large crowd, and it was a special night,” said Head Coach Adam Solomon. “We’d like everybody to wear pink and come out to support the girls, as they do their part to promote breast cancer awareness in the community.”

Anyone may honor a survivor or someone felled by the disease by contacting Solomon (please see below). The names will recognized throughout the evening, he said.

Area businesses and individuals can help make the night a success by making donations in the form of door prizes and concession stand items. The volleyball boosters also are seeking partial or full sponsorship of pink ribbon socks for the BMHS volleyball team to wear during game. (Cash or checks may be made payable to BMHS Volleyball Boosters.)

Checks also may be made directly to the American Cancer Society in honor or in memory of a loved one. Businesses supporting the event will be promoted during the program.
