There will be special music performed by Matt Sullivan and the Hardin Baptist Worship Team. The public is invited to come hear the inspirational story of Head vs. Heart featuring guest speakers, David and Lori Scott, who lost their son Jacob Scott, along with his two friends, Trevor Williams, and McKenzie Stanley, on Kentucky Lake on January 10, 2009. This is a great opportunity for those grieving and those going through tough personal struggles to attend. The event is being sponsored by Sports Rally for Christ and Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church of Mayfield.
On January 10, 2009, four teenage friends sat out to go duck hunting on Kentucky Lake. Only one of them would be recovered alive. This horrific event would result in the largest search and recovery effort in Western Kentucky’s history. It also came during the worst ice storm to plaque this area. During this time, the Scott Family wrestled with God needing to understand why this happened. But in the end, they found God was there with them all the time, carrying them through the storm and demonstrating his unwavering love. We invite you to come hear the inspirational story of Head vs. Heart and hear about God’s unmovable and unchangeable love. Church groups, teen’s, mom’s, dad’s, grandparents, those going through grief, those going through tough personal struggles in their life, or those who know someone going through grief are encouraged to attend. The general public is welcome.
