Dr. Korson to Join Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital

MURRAY, KY - Rachel Korson, M.D., recently signed with Murray-Calloway County Hospital to begin work in Neurology and Sleep Medicine in August 2013.

Korson is a 2008 M.D. graduate from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, CA, a 2003 Bachelor of Science in Health Science graduate (Summa Cum Laude) from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN, and a 1999 graduate (Summa Cum Laude) of Shenandoah Valley Academy in New Market, VA.

She recently completed a Neurology Residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, and will complete a Stanford Sleep Medicine Fellowship in Redwood City, CA in June 2013.

“Dr. Korson has great credentials and education and we are thrilled to have her expertise joining our staff,” said Keith Travis, Vice President of Institutional Development. “Neurology and Sleep Medicine are two areas of growth for MCCH, especially with our newly renovated Sleep Disorders Center.”

While at Loma Linda, Korson was the co-investigator in a clinical research study at the Diabetes Research Center. She also held a research assistanceship in the Department of Microbiology. In 2006 she was a participant in nine medical-related scientific abstracts, posters and presentations.

Outside of medicine, Korson enjoys racquetball, tennis, cooking, Sudoku puzzles and travel. She also speaks French as a second language.
