Give Blood Today at Red Cross Donor Days

PADUCAH, KY - School’s out and many families go out of town on vacation. But, while you’re relaxing by the pool enjoying the warm weather, take a moment to think about the people spending their summer inside a hospital. Their need is constant.
To help save lives, the American Red Cross has mobilized staff from all over Kentucky and Tennessee for the 29th annual Paducah Donor Days blood drive at the Cherry Civic Center from 7 am - 7 pm both Wednesday and Thursday.
In recent months, the American Red Cross blood supply has taken a serious hit. Earlier this year they issued an emergency appeal to blood donors of all types. There is only about half the amount of blood supplies in the Red Cross inventory now than there was at this time last year.
Presenting donors will receive a rock-and-roll themed t-shirt and a coupon for a free carwash from Expressway Car Wash, while supplies last. In addition, donors will be eligible to win a Gibson Guitar, the chance to win a $3,000 American Express gift card, and donors age 16-21 can enter to win a $5,000 scholarship.
Pizza Inn is providing pizza after 11 am, while supplies last.
The Cherry Civic Center is located next to Noble Park, at the corner of H.C. Mathis Drive and Park Avenue in Paducah.
