West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Paducah School of Art and Design opens its exhibition Divide/Revive - select works by Anne Beyer and Wyatt Severs with a reception November 7.

Divide/Revive showcases a selection of ceramics and woodworking respectively by artist/partners Beyer and Severs. The reception, which is free and open to the public, will be hosted in the Bill Ford Gallery from 5-7:30 pm. The gallery is located in Paducah School of Art and Design's (PSAD) 2D and Graphic Design Building at 905 Harrison Street.

Anne Beyer earned a master of fine arts degree in ceramics from Indiana University in May 2019 and currently serves as adjunct instructor of ceramics for PSAD. With a bachelor of fine arts degree from Michigan's Albion College, she also served as their ceramic technician from 2012-2016 and as Albion Anagama resident artist and studio manager. Beyers has additional experience at Penland School of Craft as a wood fire resident leader and studio assistant. Her work explores the relationship between handcrafted wood fired ceramic forms and digitally designed 3D printed plastic objects.

Wyatt Severs has taught woodworking at Murray State University, Peters Valley School of Craft in New Jersey, Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado, Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, and Tennessee's Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts and Appalachian Center for Craft. He continues to create and exhibit his work and serves as studio technician for PSAD. Severs' work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and included in the publications 500 Cabinets, Making Good, Maker Moxie and Woodwork magazines.

"PSAD is pleased to showcase the work these two outstanding artists who have recently deepened their roots in west Kentucky," said art school director Paul Aho. "We are also pleased to have them join our staff and faculty this year at PSAD. Both Anne and Wyatt excel at their respective artforms, utilizing their extensive training and experience to produce unique and beautiful works of art."

The exhibition will remain on display through December 13. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm; Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.
