In conjunction with the opening of AQS QuiltWeek® Fall, Paducah Quilt Murals Inc. unveiled the Corona II: Solar Eclipse Thursday morning in front of the Schroeder Expo & Carroll Convention Center.

The original award-winning quilt was created by Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry. It was reproduced for the mural by local artist Char Downs. Downs worked over 550 hours to recreate the image in her Pinecone Gallery in LowerTown.

The painted fabric was installed earlier this week and unveiled this morning as the kick-off to the first AQS QuiltWeek Fall in Paducah.

This is the premier panel of Quilt City USA® Murals, reproductions of historically significant quilts painted by local artists.
