The parade will follow Broadway starting at 14th Street, head downtown and turn left at 2nd Street until it disbands at Madison Street.
Retired Paducah Fire Chief Leon Dodge is the parade’s grand marshal.
Once the parade ends, enjoy the day in downtown Paducah. In the parking lot between Broadway and Jefferson, there will food and merchant vendors, inflatables for the kids, and train rides.
Starting at noon, there will be an awards ceremony immediately followed by political speaking.
Once the political speaking concludes, enjoy the music of the Blue River Band. The entertainment lasts until 5 pm. The Farmers' Market will also be open.
The downtown parking lot between Broadway and Jefferson will be closed to the public from 7:00 am until the festivities end at 5 pm. Handicapped parking spaces off 2nd Street will be available. Water Street also will be closed between Broadway and Jefferson.
Before the parade begins, Broadway will be closed between 14th and 17th Streets for the marshaling of the parade entries. A section of North 17th also will be used for the marshaling. Broadway from 14th Street to Water Street will close at 9 am and remain closed until the parade safely passes.
Pets are allowed at city-sponsored community events such as the Labor Day Parade; however the dog must be: 1. Licensed by McCracken County Animal Control or by any other state or county; 2. Restrained by a leash or other lead that is no longer than three feet; and 3. Restrained by a muzzle.
