"Tour de Seven" 5K in Cairo September 7

Cairo's annual "Tour de Seven" 5K hosted by the Southern Seven Health Department is scheduled for September 7.

The race will be held at St Mary's Park in Cairo. Package pickup is at 8:00 am and the 5K begins at 9:00. 

Early registration is available until August 23 for $25. Late registration is $30. T-shirts are not guaranteed for late registration. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cairo Women's Shelter. To register, visit southern7.org or runsignup.com.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals will be awarded to men and women for age categories including 20 years and younger, 21 to 35 years, 36 to 50 years, 51-65 years, and 66 and older. Awards will also be given for overall runner and walker for men and women.

A one mile race is available as well. The entry fee is a women's hygiene item or cleaning product such as deodorant, shampoo, or laundry detergent. 

Leashed pets are welcome. Hydration and first aid stations will be available.

The “Tour de Seven” is held each year in conjunction with the Annual Cairo Blues and Gospel Festival in historic downtown Cairo at the Heritage Foundation Pavilion on 8th and Commercial Ave. There will be a parade, music, fireworks and food & craft vendors.
