The United Way of Paducah - McCracken County will hold its 5th Annual Elimination Dinner and evening of entertainment at Walker Hall on Friday, October 17th.

Tickets are selling fast, and several corporate tables have already been reserved. If early sales are any indication, tickets will be gone long before the October 10th cutoff date.

An Elimination Dinner is a backwards raffle. Organizers will start with all 200 tickets being in a pot. Jamie Futrell, Bristol Broadcasting general manager, is the evening's emcee. As tickets are drawn throughout the night, people are eliminated from the drawing to win the $5,000. The last five tickets standing have the option of splitting the $5,000 ($1,000 each) or continue pulling tickets. If they opt to keep pulling tickets the person with the last ticket will win the $5,000 Grand Prize.

There are two ticket purchase options: a $500 corporate ticket includes a reserved table for eight guests, dinner for eight guests, eight complimentary glasses of wine or beer, eight additional complimentary glasses of wine, four chances to win the Grand Prize, recognition at the event and a fun filled evening of entertainment - or - the $100 ticket includes dinner for two, two complimentary glasses of wine or beer,  and a chance to win the Grand Prize of $5,000 in cash plus a fun filled evening of entertainment.

Only 200 tickets will be sold and the Grand Prize that will be awarded to someone during the evening's entertainment. The winner does not have to be present to win.

Mix n Mingle starts at 6:30 pm with dinner at 7 pm. The drawings for the Grand Prize also begin at 7 pm and continue throughout the evening.

Monique Zuber, United Way of Paducah – McCracken County Executive Director says, "All proceeds from the evening go to support programs positively impacting education, income and health in the community. We would love for everyone to join us for a night of fun and a chance to win $5,000 all while supporting our community."
