Ballard County After-School Program Fees Changing
By WestKyStar Staff
BARLOW, KY - One of Ballard County Schools’ childcare centers, After School Kids (A.S.K.), will change its fee schedule when school starts on Aug. 9.
The center, located at Ballard County Elementary School, is changing to a mostly flat-rate structure, instead of the $2.50 per-hour rate it charges now. This change will NOT affect Stop ‘n’ Go, the district’s childcare center for younger students, located at Ballard County Preschool and Head Start.
Beginning Aug. 9, after-school care (3:00-5:30 pm) at A.S.K. will be a flat fee of $6.00 per day, regardless of the length of stay. For days when there is a planned half-day of school (students leaving at 11:45 am), cost will be $12 for any length of stay from 11:45 am until 5:30 pm. Fees for early dismissals due to weather or other circumstances have yet to be determined. Full days will remain at $2.50 per hour, with a minimum of four hours to be charged ($10).
Also beginning Aug. 9, there will be an additional $20 fee for late pick-ups (after 5:30 pm), and a $35 fee for any returned checks. If a client has a returned check, all future payments must be made in cash.
