Eight members of the Ballard Memorial High School chapter of SkillsUSA attended regional leadership competition on February 25, and five of them will go on to state in Louisville on April 19.
Jason Naas earned first place in prepared speech. Those earning second-place honors were Lindsay Tatum, job interview skills; Ben Thomas, technical math; Austin Dowdy, 30-second elevator story; and Jake Davey, spelling.
Those earning third-place honors were Chase Rundles, 30-second elevator story; Christian Wallace, construction tool identification; and Tyler Morgan, welding sculpture.
Adviser Kevin Cope said “These kids worked really hard on their material, and deserve congratulations!”
