The Pajama Game starts the Season Events Series Nov. 12. It features Graves County High School drama students. The original Broadway musical ran for more than 1,000 performances and since has been revived several times. A 1957 movie version starred Doris Day and John Raitt, the father of rock star Bonnie Raitt. The story focuses on labor troubles in a pajama factory,where workers’ demands for a seven-and-a-half cent raise are not met. In the midst of that ordeal, love blossoms between Babe, the grievance committee head, and Sid, the new factory superintendent.
Candy Cane Classics, an annual favorite featuring Christmas music, is scheduled for Dec. 3. It includes performances from Graves High’s various bands, choirs, and orchestras.
GC's Got Talent is Graves County’s own version of the popular TV show. It features talented students from all Graves County schools performing variety acts Jan 21.
