James O. Gregory has been named director of bands at Paducah Tilghman High School. He replaces Patrick Saddler, who was named assistant principal at Paducah Middle School.

Gregory has worked as a high school band director in Kentucky school for 12 years, beginning at Hopkinsville Middle School and Hopkinsville High School. In 2006 he was named Outstanding Young Band Director of the Year for the commonwealth of Kentucky by Phi Beta Mu, an honorary fraternity for band directors.

He moved to Owensboro Apollo High School in 2006 and served there four years. Since 2010 he served as director of bands for Christian County High School.

Gregory has a B.A. and a Rank 2 certification in instructional music from Western Kentucky University.

“I am happy to welcome Mr. Gregory and his wife, Angela, to Paducah Tilghman High School,” said PTHS principal Art Davis. “He brings with him a wealth of knowledge in instrumental music. He has studied under legendary band directors and instructors for many years."

“I’m very excited to be here and learn the Tilghman way of doing band,” Gregory said. “Tilghman has a long, rich band tradition and I look forward to upholding that tradition."
