Cynthia Steger, a fourth grade student at Concord Elementary, won several awards in the Junior American Citizens Contest (JAC), and was recognized at Monday night's McCracken Co. Fiscal Court meeting.

The JAC Contest is sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Steger's poster, representing the theme 'Focusing on the Future,' won first place at the local DAR chapter level and at the Kentucky state level. Her entry was sent on to the divisional level comprised of five states and again won first place. Steger's poster was then forwarded to the national level for judging, and she won second place nationally.

Steger received a medal from the JAC chairman at the Kentucky State Youth Awards Ceremony in Lexington in March and was recognized by Judge Leeper at the April McCracken County fiscal court meeting.
