McCracken County Schools Announces New Hires

PADUCAH, KY - McCracken County Schools has announced the hiring of two women for next year - Paula Grubbs as Farley Elementary Principal, and Sara Jane Hedges as McCracken County Director of Food Services.
Grubbs has 21 years of experience serving as a special education teacher and school administrator, and served as interim principal at Farley Elementary School during the 2011-2012 school year. She holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Special Education from the University of Georgia. She earned a second Master’s Degree from Murray State University in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Waldrop, McCracken County Superintendent, stated, “Paula is committed to student achievement and making Farley a great place for students and teachers.” Grubbs envisions a “focus on college and career readiness”, and high levels of student achievement for all the children at Farley Elementary School.
Hedges graduated from Murray State University in 2007, with a B.S. in Health and Human Services with an area in Dietetics. Hedges completed the Dietetic Internship at Murray State University in 2008, where she acquired experience in food service operations, clinical and community nutrition. Hedges also received certification in education from Murray State University.
Employed as a family consumer science teacher at Reidland High School since 2010, Hedges has also worked as a nutritionist in Bowling Green, KY.
“Sara Jane has the educational background, the motivation and the compassion to direct a school nutrition program that serves every child,” says Superintendent Nancy Waldrop.
Hedges looks forward to working with the nearly 7,000 students of McCracken County Public Schools in this new role.
“I am excited to put my knowledge of nutrition and food service to use for the students of McCracken County Public Schools,” says Hedges.
