Online Biology Class Added at Shawnee College

ULLIN, IL - An online class section of Human Biology BIO 115 was recently added to the fall class schedule at Shawnee Community College.
Long-time SCC faculty member Lori Armstrong will provide instruction through online delivery with two class labs scheduled to meet face-to-face on campus. The Saturday labs will be on September 22 and November 17 from 9 am to 5 pm.
The course is an introduction to the study of the structure and function of the human body. This course includes laboratory experience and lecture concepts examining topics such as the molecules of life, bonding, acid/base chemistry of body fluids, cellular metabolism, cell structure and function, tissues, an introduction of the structure and function of organ systems, DNA, genetic diseases, biotechnology and its application and impact of society.
