All Mid-Continent Personnel Laid Off

Sources have confirmed to West Kentucky Star that all Mid-Continent University faculty and staff have been dismissed.


EARLIER STORY:

Reports indicate that at least part of Mid-Continent University is closing.

A confidential source said Tuesday that at a brief meeting on campus, some staff at Mid-Continent University were told not to report to work after today, and some Advantage Program staff opted to begin packing up their personal belongings, believing that the program would be shutting down.

According to reports, some students began leaving class, and some teachers had told students that they will volunteer teaching to complete the term.

Another source said the board will have to vote to make the closing official, and a staff meeting was set for later today with Interim President Tom Walden.
