Refreshing Sherbet Ice

Serves 8

3 cups water
1 cup apricot nectar
2 cups sugar
3 oranges, juiced
3 lemons, juiced
3 ripe bananas, mashed

Boil one cup of the water and dissolve the sugar in it. Blend all the other ingredients together. Pour into an ice cream freezer and follow freezing instructions.

If you think you recognize this recipe, it's because it's almost the same as an old recipe called the Three 5s. The difference is the apricot nectar. My friend Betty raised three boys and they were crazy about this recipe. They would hide the left-overs in the back of the freezer so no one could find them. On a hot muggy summer day, they would pull them out and totally enjoy.
