National Volunteer Week runs April 7-13, but the time donated by Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital’s dedicated volunteers is a year-round effort. Volunteers serve in a wide variety of roles, including as greeters, clerks, aides, messengers, patient ambassadors, transporters, drivers and more.
“Our volunteers, who are amazing year in and year out, really went above and beyond in 2018,” said Shannon Courtney, Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital volunteer coordinator. “The importance of our volunteers to the day-to-day operations at Lourdes can’t be overstated. They help create a welcoming environment for both patients and staff. For their dedication and the giving of their time, we thank them this week and are grateful for them every week.”
