The free service will be held on September 26 at 1 pm outside the Marshall Nemer Medical Office Building. The event includes speakers, prayer service and remembrance ceremony, and balloon release in honor and in memory of pediatric cancer patients.
Families, caregivers, organizations and groups across the United States observe September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Statistics show that each day, 42 families in the United States will receive the devastating news that their child or teen has cancer. Childhood cancer is the number one disease killer and the second overall leading cause of death of children in the United States.
In the event of rain, the service will be moved indoors to the Garden Room on the ground floor of the hospital.
