McCRACKEN COUNTY, KY - A teenager and another child were taken to an area hospital after the teen allegedly ran a stop sign in McCracken County on Saturday.
Just before 3:00 Saturday afternoon, McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of an automobile accident at the corner of Oaks Road and Sheehan Bridge Road. Their investigation revealed that 16-year-old Alexandria Mills of Almo was travelling westbound on Sheehan Bridge Road when she apparently failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Oaks Road.
Mills then collided with a pickup driven by 49-year-old Mark Mahan of Symsonia. The impact caused Mills' vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn before coming back to rest upright. Rescue workers had to use mechanical means to remove Mills from her vehicle.
Mercy Regional Ambulance Service transported Mills and 43-year-old Stephanie Mahan, a passenger in Mahan's vehicle, to Baptist Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A portion of Oaks Road was closed for approximately one hour for injury clean up.
Reidland Fire Department and Hippie's and Vanzants wrecker services also assisted at the scene.
