Lighted Dogwood Trail Moved Up to April 8
By WestKyStar & Civic Beautification Board
PADUCAH, KY - As is the case each spring, it's a mystery exactly when the showy dogwood buds will burst open marking the beginning of Paducah's 54th annual Dogwood Trail. The Civic Beautification Board has decided to move the opening trail date to April 8th. This should give the buds plenty of time to pop and the blossoms will then start appearing. Residents are encouraged to light their blooming trees, shrubs, plants and even turn on their porch lights. When neighborhoods "light up" the annual Dogwood Trail is beautiful both day and night.

These dates are events related to this spring's Dogwood Trail:
April 8 - The lighted Dogwood Trail begins.

April 10 - CBB members will be judging the best lighted trees on and off the trail. There will be ten winners chosen on and two off the trail.

April 11 - Dogwood Trail winners will be announced and signs will be placed in their yards.

April 12 - Trolley rides will take guests along the lighted trail at dusk. The trolley will depart from the PATS building at 850 Harrison St.

April 14 - The annual Dogwood Tree Sale will take place at local nurseries.

April 15 - Dogwood Trail Bike Ride & dinner on the grounds. Start at BikeWorld, 809 Joe Clifton Dr. at 2:30 pm

May 8 - A Dogwood reception and presentation of awards to the winners on the lighted Dogwood Trail and Dogwood Art & Photography Contest will take place during the City Commission meeting starting at 5:30 pm at City Hall.
