Active Shooter Drill Today on WKCTC Campus
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - West Kentucky Community and Technical College has scheduled a full-scale crisis exercise on its Paducah campus for 9 – 10 am.

The exercise will include an active shooter scenario and a simulated response from police, fire personnel and Paducah 911. In addition, WKCTC nursing students will assist with simulated "victims" and makeup.

In case you hear reports this morning of an increased police presence, building evacuation, or any other emergency-type situation on WKCTC campus, please remember it is only a drill.

During the drill, a mock alert will be sent through the college’s Safety Notification Alert Process.  WKCTC will be “lockdown,” and college entrances will be blocked.

The exercise is expected to last no more than 45 minutes.

No live ammunition will be used.
