Two young women were injured in an altercation early Friday morning on Farwood Drive that resulted in the arrest of one of them.

Paducah Police responded to a disturbance involving a knife and found 19-year-old Janai E. Orr bleeding from injuries to her face. She told police that she had been assaulted by 18-year-old Alissa M. Jones, who lives in the same area.

Both Jones and Orr were treated at a local hospital and released. Jones admitted to a detective that she cut Orr, and she was arrested for second-degree assault. Jones was also charged with tampering with physical evidence because she threw the knife in a nearby wooded area, where it was found by police and kept as evidence.

Jones was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
