By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - While the Ohio River experiences high water, drivers in downtown Paducah today may be able to see the American Queen steamboat looming over the floodwall between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue on Paducah's riverfront.
The paddle wheeler docked at the Port of Paducah at 5 this morning and will depart at 5 this evening.
The American Queen is a recreation of a classic Mississippi River steamboat, and is said to be the largest ever built. It has six decks and a capacity for 436 passengers. The Queen travels the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers on 3- to 10-day cruises to river ports from St. Paul Minnesota and Pittsburgh, downstream to Cincinnati, Louisville, St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans.
