Harold and Jennifer Campbell are each facing numerous counts of second-degree animal cruelty after more than 50 dogs were found in their McCracken County home.
McCracken County Sheriff Matt Carter told West Kentucky Star bench warrants have been issued for the Campbells after they failed to appear in court on Tuesday. Warrants had previously been issued for their arrest after they missed a prior court appearance.
Carter said the home where the Campbells lived with the dogs is currently uninhabited and they are asking anyone with information on the pair to contact his office.
The Campbells were charged after McCracken County Animal Control officers executed a search warrant at their home while Jennifer was already in jail, finding more than 50 Chihuahuas living in poor conditions. Several of the animals died, and Harold was later arrested.
The McCracken County Humane Society has been caring for the dogs and treating them for various conditions. Most have been now been adopted.
