The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended the Flash Flood Warning for parts of southern Illinois and western Kentucky.

The Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 6:15 pm for northwestern Hardin County, Massac County, Pope County, Central Johnson County and south central Saline County in southern Illinois, and the western Kentucky counties of Fulton, Hickman, Carlisle, McCracken, Ballard and Graves.

Rainfall reports of 2 to 4 inches are widespread across the warned area. With radar showing additional heavy rains incoming, flash flooding will continue, so the warning is being extended through the remainder of the afternoon and into the early evening hours.
