On Wednesday, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of an Arlington couple.

Shortly before 2:00 pm police got a call alleging that a man was assaulting a woman in a moving vehicle on US Highway 60 West. Deputies and detectives stopped the vehicle at the intersection of US Highway 60 and Fisher Road. Investigation revealed that 21-year-old Brea Collins had assaulted her boyfriend, 37-year-old Edward Wallace.

During the stop, a sheriff’s detective reportedly saw Wallace attempting to hide something in the vehicle. Wallace was then asked to step out of the vehicle. While speaking with Wallace, detectives said a metal container with Methamphetamine packaged for sale inside fell out of his pants.

During a search of the vehicle detectives seized doses of Alprazolam and more than $1400 that they believe to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.

Wallace was arrested and charged with drug offenses. Brea Collins was arrested for domestic assault. Both were taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
