Blandville Road Crash Injures Three

PADUCAH, KY - Three people were hurt in a Sunday evening crash on Blandville Road in Paducah.

At around 7:45 p.m. Sunday, deputies received a call for an injury accident at the intersection of US62/Blandville Road and HWY 286 involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, deputies located two vehicles off the roadway with severe front end damage due to a head on collision.

The police investigation showed that 19-year-old Robert Beasley, of Bardwell was traveling southbound on US62/Blandville Road at the intersection of HWY 286. Beasley attempted to continue to veer left onto Blandville when he was struck head on by another vehicle, driven by 55-year-old Ronald Thomas, of Paducah.

Thomas had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of US62/Blandville and HWY 286 and then continued onto Blandville. Thomas said he saw Beasley going southbound and attempted to swerve to the right to avoid contact.

The Investigation showed that both vehicles struck head on just north of the intersection and came to rest off the shoulder of Blandville Road.  18-year-old Shellie Elder, of Paducah was a passenger in Beasley's vehicle.

All occupants were taken to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
