Bomb Squad Responds to False Alarm
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Paducah Police say a bomb scare in a Paducah Neighborhood Monday night was a false alarm.

Officers responded to the 2900 block of Clark Street about 9 p.m. Monday after Randy Dublin reported what he thought to be a pipe bomb in the trunk of his mother’s car.

Sgt. Steve Smith said homes on the block were evacuated. The bomb squad employed a robot to investigate the device, but when the package was opened there were no explosives inside.

Smith said the department doesn't know how the device got inside the trunk. The street was opened to traffic about 11:30 p.m.
