MCCRACKEN COUNTY - A McCracken County couple facing a child abuse charge appeared in court Monday for a bond hearing.

The McCracken Circuit Court Clerk said a bond reduction request was approved for 25-year-old David Saunders and 23-year-old Autumn Saunders.

David's bond was reduced to $50,000 in cash or property, while Autumn's bond was reduced from $50,000 to $5,000 in cash or property.  A pretrial conference is set for April 19.

David is facing a charge of first-degree criminal abuse after bringing a 3-year-old boy to a local hospital with a fractured arm and suspicious bruising. Detectives say David later admitted to causing the injuries.

A grand jury indicted Autumn on March 11 for criminal abuse of a child 12 or under. Deputies told the grand jury Autumn was aware of the abuse.
