Breonna Taylor Birthday March Tonight in Paducah

A peaceful march and candlelight vigil to celebrate the 27th birthday of Breonna Taylor, who died March 13 after being shot by Louisville Police officers is set for Friday evening.

Organizers of the event say the meetup will be at South 9th and Washington Street at 7:30 p.m. Plenty of parking will be available, and attendees are asked to bring their own candle or other light source, a mask and bottled water. Participants are encouraged to wear white clothing.

The march will begin at 8 p.m., and will end at Paducah City Hall. The vigil will go on until 9 p.m.

Prior to the march, tables will be set up at 7 p.m. at City Hall and at the site of the meetup for residents to register to vote.

Event organizers ask all participants to remain peaceful and respectful.
