A Canadian quilter will take home a $20,000 cash prize for winning the 2018 Fall AQS Quilt Show Janome America Best of Show.

Kathy K. Wylie, of Whitby, Ontario, Canada won the prize for her quilt "For Such A Time As This".

Like thousands of quilters visiting Paducah this week, Rhonda Moreau, a member of Golden Triangle Quilt Guild in Beaumont, TX, said she was thrilled to get to see so many spectacular quilts - up close and personal. "I got to hear about how this quilt was created, taking over three years to make and why she included certain details".

"For us, it's such a thrill and honor to be here and see these talented quilters' creations, hear their stories and feel like we got to be part of this beautiful quilt. I'm having a wonderful time and these are the nicest people." Moreau said.

Moreau said she admired the details in the quilt, and had her photo made with Wylie.

Awards were announced Wednesday evening at Walker Hall.
