Car Collides with Building in Downtown Paducah

PADUCAH, KY - A crash in downtown Paducah on Sunday sent a car into a building and one driver to the hospital.
 
Paducah police Sgt. Rob Hefner told the Paducah Sun that 17 year-old Ellen Merrick, of Marion attempted to make a left turn from Third Street onto Kentucky Avenue when her car hit a truck that was traveling in the left lane beside her.
 
After hitting the truck, Merrick’s vehicle collided with a traffic pole and a vacant building located at 133 S. Third St.
 
Merrick was taken to Western Baptist Hospital for injuries received from broken glass.

The truck’s driver, 24 year-old Justin Cooper, of Marion was driving with a suspended operator’s license.
