A Carlisle County man faces stolen firearm charges according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

The victim of the crime had reported to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department that two rifles had been stolen from her home in Bardwell. The victim stated that the firearms had been kept in a safe while she was away on military orders and discovered the firearms were missing after returning home.

An early suspect to the theft was the victim’s brother 28-year-old Anthony Aldrich.

Detectives later learned that Aldrich had taken the rifles to Paducah Shooters Supply and sold both firearms on November 8, 2012 for $300.

Detectives then located Aldrich in the Hickman County Jail where he was incarcerated on unrelated burglary charges and attempted to interview him on March 13, 2013. Aldrich refused to cooperate with detectives and the case was presented to a McCracken County Grand Jury on Friday March 22, 2013.

An indictment warrant for two counts of receiving stolen property  was returned by that grand jury and subsequently served on Aldrich Wednesday. Aldrich still remained in the Hickman County Jail at the time he was served with the new charges.
