For the second time over the weekend, a chain-reaction crash on I-24 has sent someone to the hospital.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to an injury accident around 1:45 pm Sunday. The crash was in the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 near the 16 mile marker.

73-year-old Charles Duckett of Calvert City rear-ended 59-year-old Steven Chamberlain of Rhodes, Iowa. Duckett was operating a 2006 GMC 2500 pick-up and Chamberlain was driving a substantially smaller, 2009 Ford F-150.

The force of the collision sent Chamberlain's F-150 sliding forward, and caused the Ford to strike19-year-old, Crystal Black's 2010 Dodge Charger in the rear.

Duckett had a passenger with him, 52-year-old Mary Duckett of Calvert City. She was transported to Lourdes Hospital by Mercy Regional EMS for injuries she obtained during the three vehicle collision.

In addition to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and Mercy Regional EMS, the Reidland-Farley Fire Department was also on the scene providing assistance.
