Chamber PIP Breakfast to Feature Sen. Leeper

PADUCAH, KY - Senator Bob Leeper, McCracken County’s senior state legislator, will serve as the keynote speaker during the July Power in Partnership (PIP) Breakfast on Thursday, July 11 from 7:30 to 8:30 am at the Julian Carroll Convention Center. The monthly meeting is one week later than usual due to the July 4th holiday.

The Senator’s topics will include the Special Session recently called by Governor Steve Beshear to begin on August 19th, other current legislative issues, and the 2014 General Assembly. Sponsoring the PIP is Daymar College.

Elected to the Senate in 1991, Leeper serves as the Chair of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee and is a member of the Senate Transportation and the Natural Resources and Energy Committees.  In addition, he serves on the following two statutory committees:  2014 – 2016 Budget Preparation and Submission Committee (Co-Chair) and the Capital Projects and Bond Oversight Committee.

Leeper is a former Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Paducah and a City Commissioner, a graduate of Paducah Community College and the Sherman College of Chiropractic and is a member of the World Chiropractic Alliance.
