'Christmas Cards in the Park' Spots Open Oct. 15
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - Local organizations will once again be able to help light up the night sky this holiday season as Paducah gets ready for its annual Christmas Cards in the Park display.

The yearly tradition, part of Paducah Power System's Christmas in the Park celebration, involves putting up brightly decorated, four by eight foot greeting cards. Paducah Public Information Officer Pam Spencer said cards should be submitted to the Paducah Parks & Recreation Department between Oct. 15 and Nov. 15, and 25 spaces are available. They recommend half-inch plywood for the cards, and advised organizations to make sure space is available before submitting their cards.

After the event, cards must be picked up from the Parks office by Jan. 15.

To coordinate delivery, contact Parks Maintenance Superintendent Les Evans at 270-444-8508 ext. 8.
