Paducah city officials visited Barkley Regional Airport on Thursday afternoon to present the airport board with a ceremonial check representing a funding grant for the fiscal year 2019-2020.

In a press release, the city says, "Other communities are jealous that we have Barkley Regional Airport!  It’s an asset to Paducah-McCracken County and an economic driver by providing daily United Express service to Chicago O’Hare."

The city is providing $120,000 this fiscal year to assist the airport in its operations.

On the airport's Facebook page, they said, "Without the continuing support of the City of Paducah, operations at the airport would not be possible. We were honored to receive this check that represents the city's contribution to the airport this year."

The airport reciprocated by presenting a large thank you note to city officials.
