A two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning injured three people.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened near the Ledbetter Bridge just after 11:30 am. Deputies say 27-year-old Rachel Cunningham of Paducah was westbound on U.S. Highway 62 when the traffic signal turned red. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Bryan Wooten of Ledbetter began to cross the intersection when his light turned green.  Deputies say another vehicle was stopped in the left lane of Highway 62, blocking Cunningham and Wooten from seeing each other until a collision was unavoidable. Cunningham's car struck the passenger side of Wooten's car and both were disabled.

Cunningham and her two child passengers were taken to a local hospital by Mercy EMS for treatment of injuries they received.

The intersection was blocked for about 35 minutes until the scene could be cleared.
