Congressman James Comer announced a grant in the amount of $234,650 for repairs and construction at Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah.

The funding will allow repairs to be made to a runway at the airport in order to meet Federal Aviation Administration design standards.

Airport Manager Richard Roof said, "With the awarding of this grant, we will continue to have the high-quality airfield surfaces that United Express, along with the thousands of private, corporate, and military aircraft that use Barkley Airport every year have come to expect and appreciate."

"This is just part of what makes us an asset to the entire region," Roof said.

"I'm pleased to see the Barkley Regional Airport receive this funding to help maintain compliant infrastructure standards. This is very important to Barkley Regional Airport as it serves as the main airport not only for McCracken County, but several western Kentucky communities," Comer said.
