Four people are facing charges after a tip led to discovery of a methamphetamine lab over the weekend in Paducah.

Just after 8:00 pm Sunday, deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence on Butler Lane. The response followed a complaint from someone nearby who said there was a strong odor coming from the mobile home and it was possible those inside were cooking meth.

Deputies found four people at the home. One of them, 31-year-old Christopher Edging, was arrested on an unrelated warrant (theft from a local retailer). But deputies say they also found a meth lab inside the home, along with materials used to make meth. Because of the noxious fumes and the roach-infested mobile home, detectives say they had to use protective equipment to seize the items and search the rest of the property. Evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing was also found in a burn pile behind the home, and meth paraphernalia was also found in the home, according to deputies.

Christopher Edging, along with 35-year-old Steven Green, 34-year-old Dawn Edging and 27-year-old Michelle Beeler, all of Paducah, were charged complicity to manufacturing methamphetamine. Green was charged with 2nd offense manufacturing in methamphetamine. He had been arrested in 2012 and charged with meth manufacturing at his home. The Sheriff's Department says he received a 12-year prison sentence that was probated by a judge.
