Anne Cox has been named principal of Reidland Elementary School.

A press release from McCracken County Schools says Cox has been with the school district since 2005. She began working at Reidland Elementary School as a Title 1 instructional assistant and two years later became a fifth grade teacher. In 2013, she became the library media specialist and curriculum specialist at Reidland Middle School and is currently the assistant principal.

"I am honored to be selected as the next Principal of Reidland Elementary School. It feels like I am coming home," Cox said. "It was the school where I began my personal education and the school where I began my professional teaching career.

Cox said Reidland pride runs deep in her family, with multiple generations having attended and worked at Reidland schools.

"My great-grandfather, grandfather, mother, brother, and numerous uncles and cousins are all Reidland alumni. I am proud to be a Reidland Greyhound," Cox said.

Cox holds two Bachelor's Degrees from Georgetown University and Murray State University. She earned her Master's Degree from Western Kentucky University.
