Crash Leads to DUI Arrest, Other Charges

A Kevil man was arrested Monday night on DUI and other charges after causing a collision with another vehicle.

Police say 22 year-old Michael Bass, of Kevil, attempted to cross the intersection of Rice Springs Road at Woodville Road when he pulled into the path of 34 year-old Robert Forrester, of Kevil, who was traveling westbound on Woodville Road.

A passenger in Bass’ vehicle, 16 year-old Austin Cunningham, of Kevil, was treated at the scene and taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Further investigation by Sheriff’s Deputies revealed that Bass was Under the influence of Alcohol at the time of the collision. Deputies also determined that Bass had given alcohol to Cunningham.

Bass was placed under arrest and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol (aggravating circumstances) 2nd offense, Unlawful Transaction with a minor, 3rd Degree and Wanton Endangerment, 2nd degree (2 counts). 

He was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
