The letter, dated May 24, 2015, indicates Dr. Erika Dallas is "retiring from active medical practice in the State of Kentucky and has accepted a position in another state." No reason was given for why Dallas chose to leave Kentucky.
Dallas Medical has been in Paducah since 2007, and offered one of the area's first walk-in clinics that allowed patients to see a doctor without needing an appointment.
The letter goes on to say, most of their employees will now be employed at Four Rivers Internal Medicine, and patients of some of the other care givers will still be able to see them at Four Rivers.
Patients, according to the letter, will be able to obtain their medical records at Quickcare / Four Rivers Internal Medicine, who will become the official custodian of Dallas' medical records after June 24.
Calls to Dallas Medical by West Kentucky Star went unanswered Saturday. Their website indicates they are closed on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Dallas Medical did post the letter on their public Facebook page (a link to the letter is below).
West Kentucky Star contacted Strawberry Hills Pharmacy, who is also located in the same building. A representative with the pharmacy says their business is not affected, and the closure of Dallas Medical has no impact on their business remaining open. The representative says you may continue to use Strawberry Hills Pharmacy during their regular business hours, as always.
